A Practice In Listening And Smiling - Mindful Moment
Hello everyone, welcome to another Mindful Moment.
Today is a practice in listening and smiling.
As I sit here, I hear the rain drops falling from the sky. I hear the birds signing the call of the morning.
Listening.
A car passing by. Larger drops of water falling from the trees.
We pause so we can be a part of what's happening right here, right now.
And in the moment I invite you to bring a gentle smile to your lips. Every so slightly lifting the corners of your mouth. Your eyes comfortable, open or closed.
Sitting, listening, eyes closed.
Sitting, listening, eyes open.
Each bird has a unique call. We too, have a unique voice.
Listening, breathing, smiling.
Open your senses to your world. To your home. Your surroundings wherever you are. What do you hear nearby or off in the distance. Noting the different tones around you, birds singing, cars passing by….
We can also listen within,
Listening to the voice of our heart, our intuition.
Listening to the sounds of our body. Heart beating, the breath entering and exiting the body.
Bringing a gentle smile to your lips.
Bringing our awareness to what is a sacred and special moment.
If the mind is chatty with much to say, you can have a moment to listen to it too.
Smiling, breathing, listening.
Awareness and sensations in your body, they too are a voice. What are they telling you?
Are you willing to listen?
Breathing, breathing, breathing.
Connection to the body. Connecting to your senses.
Breathing, breathing, breathing.
Connection to the body. Connecting to your senses.
Listening. Welcoming. Embracing. Accepting.
Feeling your cheeks lift as your smile widens, the separation of your lips. Feeling your face brighten, lift and for a moment, feel the gift of a big smile. Keep it there. Feel it!
How does your face feel?
Smiling, listening. How does your body react?
When we listen to our body. We can connect to what’s going on inside of us. We create space to allow what we are hearing and we listen. We hold space for ourselves through our breath.
Bringing your awareness to the sounds you hear around. Feeling the rise of your chest and the body relax on the exhale. Noticing the expansion of your belly and the release.
Listening, smiling, breathing.
You have these tools. They are free and accessible to you at all times!
Listening, smiling, breathing.
As you go out your day, I invite you to listen more. Listen to what is happening around you. Listen to what your body is telling you.
I invite you to smile. This moment is your gift. Smile with love. Smile with gratitude. Smile with peace.
Breathing.
Breathing in love. Exhaling doubt and fear.
Inhaling strength. Exhaling shame.
Let’s take one more breath together.
Inhaling love, smiling with gratitude, and breathing in THIS moment!
Releasing with pure surrender to what is.
Smiling ear to ear!
May you be well and enjoy this day, this gift.
Sending you off into the world with love, form my heart to yours.
